Flat warming! (or cooling as the case may be)

Moved in to our new place - it's class - $180 (£100) a week with TV, wifi, bills, furnished and brand new! Here's some photos:

That was earlier, then we went shopping and bought an xmas tree with lights plus had the gang round for flat warming!

GOT A JOB aaaaaand it's shite

The reason I haven't posted is mainly coz nothing has been happening.

Met up with some Swedish girls from surf camp one night for a few beers and pool then had a night out where I got really really drunk on goon AND beer for a change (the worst I've been in Oz I think - blame 7/11 doubles) but nothing funny really happened!

Went to see Tracy (Mum's old work friend) and that was really nice - got all my washing done and a fantastic home cooked meal. Yesterday saw Noelle (Uncle's sister) for a cuppa and both their places are really nice!

Had an interview today, got through and went straight to work doing this door-to-door commission based sales job (mainly observing the other guy) but it was pretty shite - 1 sign up a day gets you $250 (£150) which is really good money but it's hot, thirsty work in pretty deprived areas and its 5 days a week so might say I'll do it if I can do less days but if not ceebs its on average an hour to get to location then knocking on people's doors for 5/6 hours - on the plus side we aren't "selling" anything, we're actually offering people the opportunity to sign up for a government run online study scheme that gives them a free laptop and a qualification.. makes it a little better.

Going to play Korfball this evening then there's a carnage bar crawl (sounds like a familiar notts evening!)

Blue Mountains tomorrow for two nights and then hostel in Collaroy (North Sydney) for an indefinite period of time!

Notts ReGoonion

Friday night out back in Sydney was fun coz all our new surf camp buddies were out. The hostel has a room called "The Goon Room" and a goon pong tournament was the event of the evening so we all got pretty merry before we went out which was lucky because a shot of tequila sets you back $9 (£5) in Sidebar (the club).

I think everyone got with someone - the inter-BUNAC incest is pretty bad but I've managed to stay out of it so far ;) The night ended for me when I got kicked out for climbing on a table with Mel, but at least I didn't wipe out and knock over loads of stools like she did. Ha. Rookie.

Yesterday (Sat) was just recovering in the morning then sitting in a cafe using wifi to look for jobs and flats and boring shit like that but last night was mint - Ele and Caroline from Notts came to pres and then we ended up going to Homebar which was an amazing club with cracking views over Sydney harbour, loads of different rooms, some mad lasers, great music and a crazy lady hanging from the ceiling doing some cirque du soleil shit. Really good night and was nice seeing some more familiar faces!

Today has been flat hunting on the wifi at the coffee shop again - gunna cook dinner with Caroline and Ele then meet up with a couple of Swedish girls from surf camp :)

SURF CAMP!

So much has happened since my last post - I'll do my best to remember but goon and I have been great friends lately and my memory's a little hazy.

Had a final night out in Sydney which was a lot of fun - predrinks on the roof again, lots of WATOs, Aaron dropped Jess on the street, Gregor pissed in a doorway then got chased down the street by a massive Ozzie bloke and we found a place that did jugs of beer for $10 which was the most reasonable we've found! (£2.40 a pint roughly)

Went to Manly beach the next day - another fantastic beach and some of those photos are on Facebook but we got there quite late coz we were on a bit of a goonover :( still had a nice meal and got some cool footage on ferry there and back!

SURF CAMP

Sadly the people who booked surf camp early and paid more weren't allowed on the bus coz there had been a mix up and there was an overbooking so our group was halved but aside from that it's been absolutely mental!

We got driven down to Seven Mile Beach about 2/3 hours south of Sydney where the camp is. I stood up the first time we went out on Monday and now I can turn and do 180 jumps on the board and shit it's so much fun and I'm pretty decent at it I think so really wanna get a board! Food has been mint - Kangaroo steaks, hot dogs, burgers - basically if you can barbie it, they have it! After every meal I'm absolutely stuffed and there's a great bunch of people here :) In the evenings there's always a film on and they put up the pics of everyone from the day! Gooned on the beach last night and tonight might do too but surfing is so knackering that you really need your sleep!

(Couldn't post when I wrote this on Wednesday as had wifi issues so from now on is written today - Friday)

Gooned on Wednesday night but under a bridge near the beach as it rained, then gooned on the beach all the other nights, met some new people and generally had an amazing time - wasn't let down by any of it! I know this is suprising given my earlier grumpy blogs but I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Attempted a few 360s on the board but even if my feet hit the board I always fell straight off haha (still counts yeah?!) but one of the instructors said he only managed it a few weeks ago after surfing for 5 years! Got three 180s though on one wave which is my best achievement I think!

On train back to Sydney now so hopefully will post this when I get to Sydney central station. Plan for today is finding the hostel we're moving into for a week and going out with the surfing lot plus I'm meeting Caroline and Ele from Notts! #reunion #regoonion

So I've got a week to sort bank account, Medicare, place to live and get a job #BRINGITON
